What an Accounting Services Website in Tashkent Needs: A Teardown of a Live Site

We reviewed the website of an accounting firm in Tashkent. It is a typical case: the company provides bookkeeping, reporting and support services, has a website that looks decent, and it loads fast. The server responds in 59 ms, so hosting is not the issue. The overall score is still 36, and speed is not the reason.

For an accounting services website in Tashkent, the main job is to let a small business owner who needs an accountant find you in search or receive a link from an acquaintance. If the site works poorly in those two scenarios, it fails at what it was built for, no matter how good it looks.

We looked at this site because similar problems show up at many small service companies in Tashkent. Below is what a visitor and a search robot see, what that means for enquiries, and what we do to fix it.

What stops it from selling

To a search engine, the accounting firm's homepage is almost empty

What it costs the business. A visitor sees the services, the phone number and the menu, but on its first pass the robot gets about 11 words. Until it comes back for a separate rendering, the page sits in the index almost empty. Clients have a hard time finding it by the words actually written on it, such as "bookkeeping" or "filing reports". For a site that is supposed to bring in enquiries from search, this is the main problem.

What we do. We switch on server-side page rendering. Vite, which the site already runs on, supports this, so there is no need to rebuild the site. It usually takes a few days, including a check that all the text appears in the page code.

Search engines don't get a list of the site's pages

What it costs the business. Services, pricing, articles and pages for different types of business may take months to get into search, or never get there at all, if they have no direct links from the homepage. The more sections the site has, the more enquiries are lost this way.

What we do. We set up a sitemap that updates itself when pages are added, reference it in robots.txt and submit it to Search Console. This takes a few hours.

The Russian and Uzbek versions compete with each other in search

What it costs the business. In Tashkent people search for an accountant in both Russian and Uzbek. Without a link between the versions, Google treats them as separate pages and shows one or the other, so a person may land on a language different from the one they searched in.

What we do. We connect the language versions the way Google expects. If both versions already exist, this takes a few hours.

In search results, the firm's listing looks poorer than its neighbours'

What it costs the business. Competitors show an address, opening hours and services under their name, while you show only a link and a short description. A client choosing between several accounting firms is more likely to click the more informative listing, even if yours ranks at the same level.

What we do. We mark up the organization, address, opening hours and services in the way Google reads them. It is half a day of work, after which additional lines may appear in the results.

A link to the site arrives in Telegram and WhatsApp as a bare address

What it costs the business. Accounting firms are most often recommended by acquaintances who forward a link in a messenger. If a bare address goes out instead of a card with a title and an image, fewer people click it, and the recommendation loses some of its force.

What we do. We add an image and a caption for messengers and social networks so the link unfolds into a neat card. This takes a couple of hours, including preparing the image.

The search robot has no way to learn where not to go on the accounting site

What it costs the business. The file by itself breaks nothing. But without it there is nowhere to tell the robot where the sitemap lives, and it spends its crawl on service pages instead of the services that should reach search.

What we do. We write a robots.txt that points to the sitemap and closes off service addresses. This takes about half an hour.

What this gives

The accounting service pages become readable to search engines from the first visit, and clients can find the site by the queries that are actually written on it.

Russian-speaking and Uzbek-speaking visitors land on their own version of the site, not a random one.

The link to the firm is pleasant to forward: in a messenger it unfolds into a card, and in search the listing looks as good as its neighbours'.

What this costs

Out of every hundred people who reach the site ready to get in touch, roughly 10–26 are lost at these points.

This is an estimate based on our own stated assumptions, not a measurement of someone else's analytics: we do not know this site's traffic and do not make it up. We count per hundred visitors, and the share of every item is open in our code.

Price and timeline

from $2500, 3-8 weeks
