What a Law Firm Website in Tashkent Should Look Like: A Teardown of a Real WordPress Site

Here we look at a law firm website in Tashkent, built on WordPress. People turn to a lawyer when they have a problem: a dispute, a deal, a business registration, documents that need to be put in order. In that state, a person doesn't study a website. They look for someone to call or message right now. That is why a law firm website works like a reception desk: if it is inconvenient, the client turns around and goes to the next firm.

We went through the site the way a visitor coming from search would, and we checked the technical side. The site's overall score came out at 29. That is not a verdict but a picture: the site exists, yet most enquiries never reach the firm. The causes are mostly simple and quick to fix.

We are reviewing this site because most law firm websites in the city suffer from the same things. If you own a similar firm, check this list against your own site.

What stops it from selling

A person is ready to call a lawyer, but the phone number is nowhere to be seen

What it costs the business. Someone who has already decided to get in touch looks for a phone number and can't find one. They don't write an email or fill in a form. They go back to search and call another firm. For legal matters that are discussed by voice, this is the most expensive loss: the enquiry disappears and you never even know about it.

What we do. We put the number in the header on every page and make it tappable, so a call starts with one touch on a phone. This takes about an hour.

There is no way to message the firm on Telegram or WhatsApp from the site

What it costs the business. In Uzbekistan, messaging has long overtaken calling. It is easier for a person to write in the evening or on a weekend than to dial a number and listen to the ringtone. The first question to a lawyer is often a delicate one, and it is easier to ask in a messenger. Without a button, these enquiries simply never happen, and they don't show up in the statistics.

What we do. We add a Telegram and WhatsApp button to the header and a floating button on mobile, with the first message pre-filled. This takes a few hours.

A visitor can't tell how much a consultation or handling a case costs

What it costs the business. "How much does it cost?" is the first question of almost everyone who lands on the site, and the site stays silent. Some people will write and ask, but most will close the tab and go where a price is stated. Silence about price reads as "expensive" or "they'll haggle."

What we do. We add a "from and to" range for the main practice areas and explain what the final amount depends on. This doesn't commit you to the lower figure, but it filters out those who can't afford it anyway. It takes a day or two, together with the copy.

The site shows a white screen first and only then starts to load

What it costs the business. The site's time to first byte is 1559 ms, meaning the page starts responding only after 1.6 seconds. All that time the visitor stares at a blank screen. After three seconds of waiting, roughly every second visitor leaves, and Google takes speed into account when deciding who to rank higher.

What we do. We find where the time is lost: most often it is weak hosting, heavy plugins, or a database without caching. We remove the cause. This usually takes a day or two, and the site starts responding several times faster.

When the site's link is forwarded in a messenger, it turns into a bare address

What it costs the business. When a client sends your link to a friend on Telegram or WhatsApp, only the plain address goes out, with no image and no title. People click such links noticeably less often. And the ones who forward it are exactly those recommending you, and for lawyers, referrals remain one of the main sources of clients.

What we do. We add an image and a caption for messengers and social networks, so the link unfolds into a neat card. This takes a couple of hours, including preparing the image.

The Russian and Uzbek versions of the site are not linked for Google

What it costs the business. People in Uzbekistan search in both Russian and Uzbek, and these are different people with different queries. Without a link between the versions, Google treats them as separate competing pages and shows one or the other, instead of showing each person their own language.

What we do. We link the language versions to each other the way Google expects. This takes a few hours if both versions already exist.

To a search engine the site looks abandoned: the last update was 19 months ago

What it costs the business. The most recent date in the sitemap is 2025-04-01. Google looks at it when deciding how often to visit. The crawler comes less and less often to a site that doesn't change, and a new page waits its turn for weeks. For an active firm, this costs rankings for no reason.

What we do. We set up the sitemap to update itself, and add a reason to update: a section with case write-ups or answers to frequent questions. This takes a few hours.

How we would build it

What this gives

A client who has already decided to get in touch immediately finds how to reach you: call with one tap or write in a familiar messenger.

A visitor sees a price range and doesn't leave with the question "how much?" unanswered, and those who do write arrive with clear expectations.

The link that clients forward to each other gets opened more willingly, and Russian-speaking and Uzbek-speaking visitors land on the version in their own language.

A full rebuild of the site around these goals is something our studio can take on.

What this costs

Out of every hundred people who reach the site ready to get in touch, roughly 50–80 are lost at these points.

This is an estimate based on our own stated assumptions, not a measurement of someone else's analytics: we do not know this site's traffic and do not make it up. We count per hundred visitors, and the share of every item is open in our code.
