One of Tashkent's first service centres for foreign cars, in Chilanzar since 1991. Their site no longer opens, and the mock-up builds it anew: four pages in Russian and Uzbek, a car on a lift in a scroll scene, booking in three steps and a site that installs on a phone like an app.

The brief
AUTOMECHANIC has been repairing foreign and domestic cars since 1991: engine overhaul, argon welding, suspension, computer diagnostics, electronics, cabin soundproofing, tow bars. The automechanic.uz site does not work right now: the certificate has expired, the customer's phone warns «Connection is not secure», and behind that is a white screen. The last working version in the web archive showed other people's news about BMW and Mercedes on the home page, press photos of a Lamborghini in the gallery, and phone numbers that could not be tapped. In the mock-up a car rises on a lift and drives off as you scroll, and in the oil scene the level gauge climbs from MIN to MAX. Eight services in their own words, «since 1991» in large type, Aral and 77 Lubricants oils. Booking in three steps — service, make and what is wrong, day and time — turns into a ready message, so the service receptionist does not have to call back with questions. On a phone there is a bottom menu like in an app, and the site installs as an icon on the screen and shows the address and phone numbers even offline. Uzbek is on every page.
